Case Study: Restoring Water Clarity in Central Florida
Reducing Turbidity by Over 99%: A Customized Water Treatment Solution
A residential pond in Central Florida, known for its recreational use, struggled with excessive turbidity levels exceeding 4,000 NTUs. The property owners approached Pure Polymer Solutions for a solution that could address the turbidity while maintaining the pond’s usability for the public. With a focus on environmental responsibility, we developed a customized treatment plan that combined innovative chemistry and precise application techniques.
Our process began with a detailed analysis of water samples from the pond. To ensure the most effective solution, we recreated site conditions in our lab, testing both proven methods and experimental technologies. Through this rigorous evaluation, we determined that a plant-based hybrid polymer would surpass the client’s goals for reducing turbidity while offering a low-cost and environmentally friendly treatment option.
The treatment also required a strategic application process. By collaborating with our field technicians, we designed a stepwise system using turbidity curtains. These curtains provided optimal settling time for the polymer, ensuring maximum efficiency. To minimize disruption for the property’s visitors, we conducted all treatments during nighttime hours, keeping the pond fully accessible during the day.
The deployment of the polymer was carried out using our patented PUREMIX pump, which ensured even and precise application across the affected areas.
The results were exceptional: turbidity levels were reduced from over 4,000 NTUs to just 3.56 NTUs, dramatically improving the water clarity and restoring the pond to its intended aesthetic and functional state. This case study highlights the value of Pure Polymer Solutions’ approach, which integrates science, technology, and environmental stewardship. By focusing on thorough testing, customized chemistry, and efficient application, we delivered measurable results while minimizing environmental impact.
