  • Low Alkalinity: All ponds exhibited low alkalinity (21.6 – 63.5 mg/L), making them highly susceptible to sharp pH swings during chemical treatment, a critical factor for safe aquatic management.
  • Diverse Chemistry: Each pond had a distinct profile, including higher salinity in Pond 3, ruling out a simple one-size-fits-all solution.

Our Solution: A Tailored Coagulant and Flocculant Treatment Plan

Initial jar testing identified a high-performance metal salt coagulant that effectively reduced turbidity in Pond 2 to a remarkable 1.18 NTU without destabilizing the pH. However, the unique chemistry of the other ponds required further refinement.

For Ponds 1 and 3 with high pH, a different coagulant product was tested for its dual ability to clarify water and lower pH.
